The Damask design style originates from the city of damascus the capital of Syria. 

Geographically it was one of the main crossroads of the ancient Arab empire’s and consequently became a trade centre for all kinds of cargoes from slave’s to precious metal’s and most importantly for the Damask design style, fabric’s and yarns.
